Today’s Flukes streetscape

So after I’d made my run to the bank and the post office, I stopped by one of my favorite shops: Flukes & Finds & Friends. This shop is chock full of vintage furniture, repurposed finds, linens, art, estate jewelry, and a lot more in really inviting displays. The prices are reasonable, the dealers are friendly.
They’re not paying me to write this, honest!
Out on the sidewalk, Flukes usually has a great display. Today was no exception.

Love the color & love the curves on this little folding table! The suitcase is a vintage plain plastic one with a feminine floral slipcover.
On the other side of the front door, there was more blue and green.
Aren’t those toddler chairs adorable?
How about five Fire King jadeite cereal bowls?
Inside the shop, perched on an old wicker chair, I spied the cutest cake-taker I have ever seen.
It’s smaller than usual—maybe ten inches in diameter—and SO pretty with the enameled colors!
Hey, look! Is that the Wilendur lobster print on an apron?
You can bet I bought that!
Thanks, Flukes, for many years of great stuff and great inspiration!
ONLY $10!?!? Heck to the yeah on that apron! I wish I were there instead of here!
Yup, only $10! It looks to me like a homemade affair with a chunk of Wilendur lobster fabric sewn on the front, but it’s cute. I’ll post more about it later!
I have never seen a slipcovered suitcase before. That is cute! I think I would love to shop that store.

I don’t think I’ve seen them anywhere else, either! They’d be simple to make if you have basic sewing skills. And a verrrrrry long zipper. 🙂 If you have stuff to stash away but don’t have closet space, this would be a fab storage solution.
