I’m making the season bright and gluey

Thank goodness this is a joint blog because Luray has been posting and posting while I have been glooping hot glue on lots of vintage stuff to make Christmas wreaths. I’ve got a baker’s dozen to send to Sage Farm next week for the December show.

Ready for the Big Reveal? Here’s wreath number one…

Four quilts at the November Sage Farm show

They’re all beauts!

First up, check out this tied quilt displayed on the wall. This must be Grandmother’s Flower Garden at dusk. That splash of red down the middle is startling!

I like how the dealer picked up the red with the plaid blanket tucked under the table.

See the other three quilts!

What does it say about me that the object I loved most at Sage Farm was . . . a vintage air compressor?

Don’t even answer that, okay?

Because I already KNOW I’m weird, okay?

Seriously, how do I love this thing? Let me count the ways.

It’s beginning to look a lot like . . .

What a great display! Everything pops against that green door.

Yes, yes, I KNOW it’s not even Thanksgiving yet. But at November’s Sage Farm show, there were a few corners that looked a lot like Christmas.

I snapped some photos of  red & green. Take a look!

What are you waiting for?

Seven smalls I saw at Sage

Part of the fun of going to Sage Farm is seeing how the best dealers merchandise their stuff. I always try to look at that. It’s a free education if you pay attention!

But a few smalls always catch my eye, too. Here are six of them from last weekend’s Sage Farm show. IMG_7033 First, a McCoy iris vase displayed with other pottery. I don’t care that it’s McCoy, I just love the flutey shape, and the yellow. Because yellow is a happy color. (A vase identical to the green one behind the yellow McCoy is sitting on my mantel right now!)   IMG_7072An almost-rusty steel window screen displays vintage postcards. Wouldn’t this be great in your kitchen for recipes and notes? Too bad rust isn’t my thing. Now if I found a white enameled steel version . . .

See the other goodies I found!
